Marc el-Khouri brings a wealth of expertise in design and project management to AVANA Capital. With almost 20 years of experience and trained as an Architect and Urban Designer, Marc has designed and led projects on five continents. Currently Marc is the Chief Development Officer at AVANA Capital and leads the development, design and construction team of Amena Properties.
Prior to joining AVANA Capital, Marc held the position of Regional Director for the Middle East at the global architecture firm Perkins+Will. Throughout his career, Marc’s projects have transcended all scales, from industrial and furniture design to architecture and urban design. He has been part of a team developing a vehicle prototype for Volkswagen® and has designed furniture. His architectural work has encompassed a broad spectrum of typologies including hotels, schools, museums, commercial office and residential architecture. His work has earned global recognition and has been exhibited internationally.
Marc has taught design courses at the Rhodes Island School of Design, the University of Houston, L’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris la Villette and the Boston Architectural Center. He has also served on multiple design juries at prestigious institutions such as: Carnegie Mellon University, Rice University, “The New School for Design” at Parsons, the American University of Beirut and Texas A&M University.
Marc received a Master of Architecture in Urban Design (MAUD) from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design as well as a Bachelor of Architecture (BARCH) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the Rhodes Island School of Design.

Past Itineraries: Beginning the day by wakeboarding in the Mediterranean and finishing that same day skiing in the mountains of Lebanon, climbing the Mount Watzmann in Berchtesgarden, Germany, and lounging on the beach in Tulum, Mexico.
